What to know before your stay.
These are the questions guests ask most. If yours is not here, send us a note.
Before you book
Are pets allowed?
Pet policy varies by property and is noted clearly on each property page. Where pets are welcome, we ask for prior approval and a pet fee. Where they're not, it's usually because we keep that home strictly pet-free for guests with allergies. If you're traveling with a pet, send us a note before booking and we'll let you know what's available.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms vary by property and are shown clearly during booking before you commit. Most properties offer a full refund when you cancel at least 30 days before check-in. Cancellations closer to check-in may incur partial charges. We recommend travel insurance for any trip planned more than 60 days out.
How many guests can a property accommodate?
Maximum occupancy is set per-property and shown in the listing. We ask that you stick to that number for both safety and insurance reasons. If you need to add an extra guest or two beyond the listed capacity, contact us before booking and we can sometimes accommodate with a small additional fee.
Are parties and events allowed?
Our properties are set up for families and small groups, not events. Birthday dinners, family reunions, and similar gatherings are welcome and what most of our homes are built for. Parties with extra guests beyond the booked occupancy, weddings, and similar event-style bookings are not permitted. If you're planning a milestone celebration and want to talk through what works, send us a note.
Why should I book directly with STRop?
Direct booking avoids third-party service fees and gives you our best available rate. It also gives you a direct line to the STRop team for questions before and during your stay.
Is direct checkout secure, and will I see the full price?
Yes. The booking page uses secure checkout and shows the all-in price before you reserve. The total includes the nightly rate, cleaning, and taxes, with no STRop service fee or platform markup added at checkout.
Does a security deposit apply?
Direct and Vrbo reservations use a temporary hold on the payment card as a security deposit. It is a hold, not a charge, and is normally placed two days before arrival and held until seven days after checkout. Airbnb reservations do not use this STRop deposit.
Can I change my dates or guest count after booking?
Contact us as soon as you know what needs to change. Date, guest-count, and other reservation changes require review and may affect availability or pricing. Airbnb changes are submitted through Airbnb, while direct and Vrbo changes are handled by the STRop team.
Your stay
What's the check-in and check-out process?
Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. Every property uses keyless entry with a code unique to your stay. You'll get detailed access instructions 24 hours before arrival. Early check-in or late check-out is sometimes available depending on the day's bookings, so just ask.
Is parking available?
Yes, every property has on-site parking. Specifics (number of spaces, RV/trailer accommodation, winter access notes) vary by property and are listed on each property page. You'll also get parking instructions in your check-in details.
What amenities and supplies come with the home?
Every property includes fresh linens, towels, basic toiletries, a fully equipped kitchen (cookware, dishes, utensils), high-speed WiFi, and streaming-capable TVs. Kitchens come stocked with coffee, tea, basic spices, and cooking oil. You'll also find a starter supply of paper products, dish soap, and laundry detergent. Property-specific extras like hot tubs, pools, game rooms, and theme rooms are listed on each property page.
What about WiFi and streaming TV?
High-speed WiFi is available at every property. The network name and password are in your check-in details. The TVs are smart TVs, using Roku or YouTube TV depending on the property. Sign in with your own streaming accounts; the TV signs you out automatically on checkout day so you don't have to remember.
Are hot tubs and pools available year-round?
Hot tubs at our properties run year-round. Community pools (where applicable) are seasonal and follow the resort or HOA's schedule, which is typically late spring through early fall. Access codes and timing are in each property's digital guidebook.
Is the property cleaned before my arrival?
Always. Professional cleaning happens between every stay using a detailed checklist: every linen laundered, every surface sanitized, every supply restocked. An inspection follows the clean to confirm everything's in shape before keys go live.
Can I smoke at the property?
No smoking anywhere on the property, including porches, balconies, and yards. That's a hard rule across our portfolio for guest safety and to keep homes welcoming to the next group. If we find evidence of smoking inside, you'll be charged for deep cleaning and any required odor treatment.
What are the quiet hours?
Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM at every STRop property. Please keep outdoor and shared-community noise low during that window.
How can I check whether a home has stairs?
Each property page has a Where you'll sleep section that organizes bedrooms and bathrooms by floor when floor information is available. Review that layout before booking if stairs matter to your group, and contact us if you need to confirm a specific route through the home.
Are a Pack N Play and high chair available?
Yes. Every STRop property has a Pack N Play and high chair available for guests with young children.
What should I do if something is damaged during my stay?
Tell us right away so we can address it before it affects your stay or the next arrival. We usually do not charge for minor accidental damage. Prompt notice helps us arrange the right repair.
During your stay
How do I get in touch if I need something?
We provide 24/7 support throughout your stay. Contact details (phone + messaging) are in your check-in email. For non-urgent stuff, messaging gets you a response within about 30 minutes. For emergencies, the phone line is staffed around the clock.
Can you recommend local restaurants and things to do?
Yes. Every property has a digital guidebook with the restaurants we'd recommend to our own family and the hikes we think are worth the drive. It also covers coffee and activities for kids. We update the guide when guests send us a good recommendation or we find a new place ourselves. If you have a specific interest, such as date night or something for a large group, send us a note and we'll point you somewhere specific.
